TORONTO—A recent poll conducted by the WSIB found 62 per cent of Ontarians agree they have become more interested in workplace health and safety since the COVID-19 pandemic and 82 per cent would want to check out the health and safety information of a workplace before starting a new job there.
The WSIB’s Safety Check allows anyone to search for and compare the health and safety statistics of WSIB-registered businesses across Ontario and the data found can be used by businesses to understand how they measure up when it comes to workplace health and safety. It can also be used by any individual who is interested in researching health and safety information of a particular business in Ontario.
Examples of what Safety Check can tell you is whether a business is a member of the WSIB’s Health and Safety Excellence program, their year-over-year injury rates and leading types of lost-time injuries.
The WSIB has also added COVID-19 information to each company’s Safety Check profile so viewers can see how many COVID-19 claims businesses have had each year.
