TORONTO — Toronto Police reported that a male worker was injured and unconscious after a trench collapsed at a worksite near the intersection of Warlock Crescent and Sawley Drive in north Toronto around 11 a.m. July 11.
The worker was reported pinned when the sides of the trench collapsed. Police and paramedics performed CPR on the worker.
The worker was removed from the trench and transported to a trauma centre in critical condition, stated Toronto Paramedic Services.
A second person was assessed at the scene but did not require hospitalization.
The Ministry of Labour is investigating the incident with an inspector assigned.
The employer is Rabcon.
