UPDATE: Workers injured in scaffolding collapse at Courtice jobsite
LINDSEY COLE — Several workers were injured after a jobsite incident in the Prestonvale Road and Southfield Avenue area of Courtice Wednesday, Aug. 10.

COURTICE, ONT. — Days after two workers died and two others were injured in a trench collapse at a construction site in Ajax, Ont., another incident occurred today (Aug. 10) in Durham Region, at a jobsite in Courtice.

The incident occurred in the area of Prestonvale Road and Southfield Avenue. Emergency crews were called to the scene at 10:50 a.m. Durham Regional Police reported there was one male with a non-life threatening injury and possibly three others injured.  

According to the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development (MLITSD) it was reported that scaffolding collapsed while four workers were performing work on a residential house.

An MLITSD inspector has been assigned. The investigation is ongoing.
