BRAMPTON, ONT. – The Walnut Foundation recently held its ninth annual Walkathon for men’s health and prostate cancer awareness. The event raised $75,000.
The foundation is a men’s health interest and prostate support group working with the Black community in identifying the needs of Black men in the areas of health and related issues.
The 10-kilometre walk at Etobicoke Creek Trail in Brampton, Ont. was held in June but the Walnut Foundation is accepting donations until Aug. 31. The honourary chair for the event was Ivan Dawns, International Union of Painters and Allied Trades.
The 10th Annual Walkathon is being planned. It will take place on June 1, 2024.
