PICKERING, ONT. — A date has been scheduled for the inquest into the death of Christopher Panepinto, 33, who died on Feb. 10, 2020, from injuries sustained while working at a construction site in Pickering.
Media reports at the time stated he was crushed while forming concrete for a retirement community build.
The inquest will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 3. Bonnie Goldberg will be the presiding officer and Grace Alcaide Janicas will be the inquest counsel.
An inquest has been called pursuant to section 10 of the Coroners Act and will examine the circumstances surrounding Panepinto’s death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing further deaths.
The inquest is expected to last seven days and hear from approximately eight witnesses.
It will be conducted by video conference.
