William G. Kriesel, chairman and vice president, engineering of Precast Specialties Inc. in Monroeville, Ind., has been elected a fellow of the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI).

CHICAGO

William G. Kriesel, chairman and vice president, engineering of Precast Specialties Inc. in Monroeville, Ind., has been elected a fellow of the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI). PCI elects a limited number of its members as fellows to recognize their outstanding contributions to the precast concrete structures industry and to PCI.

“Bill’s early work on the design and development of unique prestressed components broke the ground for future product development and made the marketing of prestressed concrete much easier for those that followed,” says James G. Toscas, PCI president. “Many early projects that combined precast concrete structural building components with unique prestressed and post- Kriesel received both BSCE and MSCE degrees from Purdue University and has received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Purdue University School of Civil Engineering. He is a licensed professional engineer in Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Massachusetts.

Kriesel has been a member of PCI for 48 years and a member of the PCI Central Region since its inception. He was one of the founders of the PCI Student Education Committee and served as president of the Ohio Prestressed Concrete Association. He has also been a member of the Building Contractors Association for 30 years, a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) for 48 years, and a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers for 32 years.
