Construction is moving upwards at the Berczy condos on Front Street in Toronto, Ont.

Owner Concert Properties Ltd. and general contractor Bird Construction Company expect completion of the 13-storey, 166 unit project designed to meet LEED Gold certification early 2013. The project will also include a lounge, theatre, sauna/steam room, guest suites and three levels of underground parking. The project was designed by Young + Wright/IBI Group Architects. Consultants are: Jablonsky Ast & Partners (structural); M.V. Shore Associates (1993) Ltd. (mechanical); Trace Engineering Ltd. (electrical); ERA Architects Inc. (heritage); du Toit Allsopp Hillier (landscape) and Union31 Inc. (interior design).

Subcontractors include: Magine Construction Inc. (excavation); Drillco Foundation Co Ltd. (shoring/caissons); Verdi Inc. (formwork); Quest Steel (structural steel); Salit Steel (rebar); Dufferin Concrete (concrete); Limen Group Ltd. (masonry); Malfar Mechanical Inc. (mechanical); Speedy Electrical Contractors Ltd. (electrical); Alliance Waterproofing (roofing), Toro Aluminum (windows); and ThyssenKrupp Elevator Ltd. (elevators).
