PHOTO: Construction continues on the Motion on Bay Street apartments in Toronto

Construction reaches the top floor at the Motion on Bay Street rental apartments, 570 Bay St., in Toronto, Ont.

Owner Concert Properties Ltd. and general contractor Deltera Inc. have completion of the 30-storey, 463 unit project designed to meet LEED Gold certification for Spring 2013. The project will include retail on the ground floor, amenity spaces and three levels of underground parking.

The project was designed by Young + Wright/IBI Group Architects. Consultants are: Jablonsky Ast & Partners (structural); M.V. Shore Associates (1993) Ltd. (mechanical) and Trace Engineering Ltd. (electrical).

Subcontractors include: Anpro Environmental Group Inc. (excavation); Anchor Shoring & Caissons Ltd. (shoring/caissons); Forma-Con Construction (formwork); Newtech Iron Works Inc. (structural steel); C & T Reinforcing Steel Co. (1987) Limited (rebar); Global Precast Inc. (Precast); Venice Construction Inc. (masonry); Primo Mechanical Inc. (mechanical); Nortown Electrical Contractors (electrical); Viana Roofing & Sheetmetal Ltd. (roofing), Aluminum Window Designs Ltd. (windows); and ThyssenKrupp Elevator (Canada) Ltd. (elevators).
