TORONTO—Shopping mall developer Cadillac Fairview has unveiled a new branding scheme and simultaneously announced the grand opening of premium retail space at the newly rechristened CF Sherway Gardens in Toronto.

Three years in development, the new North Expansion at Sherway, set to open Sept. 22, marks the first phase of a $550-million redevelopment that is intended to re-establish the mall as a significant fashion destination in the west end of Toronto

The expansion brings an additional 210,000 square feet of new retail space to Sherway, with 50 new premium retailers signed up including the 24,000 square foot flagship Harry Rosen, a relocated 38,000 square foot Sporting Life, a renovated 225,000 square foot Hudson’s Bay along with Ted Baker London, Uno De 50 and, coming after that, Kate Spade New York, Free People, De Beers, Indigo, Eileen Fisher and Samsung.

The new interior of the property includes 30-foot ceilings with customized glazing, designed to bring more natural light to the space. In addition to the retail mix, the expansion opens with a new Gourmet Fare and, shortly thereafter, two new premium dining experiences with Joey’s and The Keg will open.

CF Sherway Gardens is located northwest of the intersection of highway 427 and the Gardiner Expressway.

Cadillac Fairview operates seven of the top 10 top malls in Canada measured in revenues. CF Sherway Gardens draws 10-million shoppers per year.
