$77 million upgrade for CF Masonville Place

LONDON, ONT.—Cadillac Fairview has announced a $77-million investment in upgrades to its CF Masonville Place mall located in London, Ont.

The project represents the largest renovation of the mall since it opened in 1985, says Cadillac Fairview.

A Cadillac Fairview media release, issued March 29, says the redevelopment is aimed at "modernizing the entire shopping mall with elegant interior upgrades, while ushering in a roster of first-to-market retailers and enhanced dining options."

Project elements include a two-level mall expansion into the former Sears store, which previously occupied an area of approximately 127,000 square feet.  Retailers signed up include ZARA, H&M, Sport Chek / Atmosphere, Hot Topic and Disney Store. New retailers already brought in as part of the redevelopment include Sephora, Ivivva, Lush and Saje. The project will also involve redevelopment of the former Target space.

Interior renovations and enhancements will include the addition of a centre-court staircase. Building materials will include Italian porcelain tile as well as stainless steel and glass guardrails throughout the shopping centre.

The renovation and expansion work is currently underway and is expected to be completed in November 2016. Cadillac Fairview says consumers will have uninterrupted access to the other 140 stores and services currently available at CF Masonville Place.

Cadillac Fairview is one of the largest owners, operators and developers of mixed-use properties in North America.
