LONGUEUIL, QUE.—Quebec lighting manufacturer Lumenpulse Group has launched construction on a new headquarters in Longueuil, Que. that will double its current space.
Construction was launched Nov. 10 on new facilities that will include what Lumenpulse calls an "immersive experience centre," to be a learning centre for LED lighting.
The new leased space, of more than 140,000 square feet, will house Lumenpulse’s existing manufacturing operations, the testing centre, design and engineering spaces as well as the company’s headquarters. By fall 2017, close to 300 employees will have moved into the new premises.
The building, under construction on Marie-Victorin Boulevard, will be built to LEED standards. The main contractor is Montoni, in collaboration with the architectural firm Lemay, the engineering firm Dupras Ledoux and the lighting design company Ombrages.
A Lumenpulse spokesperson said the total investment in the project is approximately $30 million, with Montoni not only building but owning the building.
"This new environment will encourage creativity in our teams and embody the image of our company and our products," said Francois-Xavier Souvay, president and CEO of Lumenpulse.
"We’re especially proud to contribute to the success and advancement of Lumenpulse, a Quebec company, by starting work on its new head office. Our teams have pooled their expertise for this innovative project, which will meet the highest criteria for excellence in sustainable building, in keeping with the wishes of the company’s management," said Dario Montoni, president of Montoni.
