Graham Construction awarded for work on police complex build

CALGARY — The $27-million police complex project completed in Clarington, Ont. was recently awarded the Ontario Public Works Association’s Project of the Year in the $10-million to $50-million division, reports Graham Construction, a contractor on the project.

Graham’s scope of work on the facility included construction of the East Division Police building, a non-combustible, one-storey building that includes three bio-exam labs, a chemical and ballistics lab, administrative and investigative office spaces and two vehicle examination bays, the company indicated in a Jan. 18 media statement.

Graham also delivered a forensic investigation facility that provides support services performed by the Forensic Investigation Unit of the Durham Regional Police Service.

Graham also announced in November that it had been recognized as a member of the consortium Mountain View Partners, which was awarded the Gold Medal Award for Financing for its Southwest Calgary Ring Road project by the Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships.

Mountain View Partners included Graham Capital Partners LP, developer; Connor, Clark & Lunn GVest Traditional Infrastructure LP, Meridiam Infrastructure North America Corporation, Kiewit Canada Development Corp. and Ledcor Industries Inc., equity investors; design-build contractors Graham, Kiewit Management Co. and Ledcor CMI Ltd.; lead designer Parsons Inc.; and operations and maintenance contractor Alberta Highway Services Ltd.

Headquartered in Calgary, Graham has offices throughout North America.
