MONTREAL — Developpements Symphonia has announced a new condo project on Nuns’ Island in Montreal valued at more than $100 million.
The 32-storey project is billed as Symphonia POP and will feature modular architecture, high-end amenities and views of the St. Lawrence River, Mount Royal and the city, notes a media release.
The project will offer 240 units of 600 to 3,000 square feet in area, some with two floors, featuring one to four bedrooms. Built on the southern tip of Nuns’ Island, sales are now underway and the tower is slated be completed in the fall of 2020, after the construction of the new Champlain Bridge and the redesigned Turcot Interchange.
The Architect for the project is Provencher Roy, a Quebec firm whose previous projects have included the renovation of the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Montreal and the modernization of the Casino de Montreal.
One side of the building will have superimposed cubes, called "pops," reflecting the outline of the city’s skyline, the statement indicates.
Other amenities include ceilings nine to 11 feet high, indoor and outdoor pools, Jacuzzis, a sauna and steam bath, a gymnasium, yoga room, games room, pool room and charging stations for electric vehicles.
Public access will also include a new REM light-rail station, the statement notes.
