Final call for Smart Cities Challenge jury

OTTAWA — The Government of Canada has issued a final notice looking for jury members to adjudicate submissions to its Smart Cities Challenge.

The deadline for submissions to serve on the jury is Jan. 12.

The Smart Cities Challenge was launched Nov. 23 with the goal of encouraging Canadian communities to come up with innovative technical approaches to solving local challenges, a media statement said.

The role of the 15-member jury will be to review the applications and final proposals. Prospective jury members are being sought across a range of disciplines, including technology and innovation, the private sector and entrepreneurs, and urban and land use planning, the statement noted.

Details on the jury selection process and the duties of the jury members are available on the Infrastructure Canada website.

The first-round jury members would be required for a maximum of 10 days between spring 2018 and early 2019.
