Construction is progressing on Canada’s first micro condo, the Smart House in Toronto.
Tucker HiRise is building the 25-storey, 256-unit project that will have office and retail space and four-levels of underground parking. Amenities will be located on the fifth floor and include a fitness facility, show kitchen, lounges and an outdoor terrace. The developers in the joint venture are Malibu Investments Inc. and Urban Capital Inc. The project was designed by architectsAlliance and the interior designer is II BY IV Design. Consultants are Adjeleian Allen Rubeli Ltd. (structural) and Smith + Andersen Consulting Engineering (mechanical/electrical). Subtrades include: Deep Foundations Contractors Inc.; Zerem Electrical Services; Primo Mechanical Ltd. (plumbing); Quest Window Systems Inc.; and KONE Inc. (elevators/escalators).
