TORONTO — The Silver Hotel Group has announced its Anndore House boutique hotel in Toronto has reopened after renovations.
The new look was designed by Toronto firm Cecconi Simone and managed by Elaine Cecconi and Anna Simone. Alessandro Munge of Studio Munge designed the common spaces.
The hotel on Charles Street East was built in 1955 as a residence hotel. The renovation reflects the hotel’s past by maintaining its original name, structure and brick, said a recent media statement.
The hotel has with 113 guest rooms and suites on 11 floors.
Other links to the past include details like record players in each room, with a vinyl library available at the front desk, retrofitted rooms and contemporary art inspired by vintage photography and the national landscape, said the statement.
As part of its next phase of renovations, this summer the Anndore House will open a second-floor meeting and party room featuring a terrace with park views.
“We designed the spaces to emulate a warm, sensible familial home,” said Munge.
“We envisioned…the Anndore House’s common spaces as lively gathering spots that are welcoming and comfortable, but with a sense of sophistication, suitable for a space that’s nestled in between some of Toronto’s most vibrant neighbourhoods.”
