MONTREAL — Developpement Lachine Est Inc., the developer behind the VillaNova project in Lachine, Que., has announced plans to construct three 10-storey residential buildings as part of the project.
The builds, together valued at $75 million, will include 177 condominiums and have a 22,000-square-foot commercial ground floor, a recent media statement said.
The new phase, known as the Flora Condos, will become part of a planned community valued at $1 billion with more than 4,000 new homes to be built at the intersection of the Lachine Canal locks and Lachine Est station. The community will feature diverse housing models from townhouses to urban condos.
The first units within the three new structures are expected to be available in September 2019. The project will encourage local horticulture with a “farm to table” restaurant that will serve fruits and vegetables grown in the project’s 15,000 square feet of rooftop and dedicated patio space.
Amenities will include a yoga studio, indoor/outdoor gym, pool and rooftop patio. Design features will include heritage architectural artifacts from the district’s industrial past.
Phase one of the project, the Botanica townhouses and stacked condos, is now 80 per cent sold. The phase was built around its own Central Park. The statement indicated VillaNova has already won an Award of Excellence from the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects for its landscape management.
The project is located a five-minute walk from the Du Canal train station.
