MONTREAL – Global construction consultancy HKA has announced the appointment of Lorna Cuthbertson Tardif as partner to head up its Canadian operations.
HKA is active in consulting, expert and advisory services for the construction industry, a recent statement said. Tardif will be based in Montreal.
The release said Tardif has 35 years of experience in claims consultancy, dispute resolution and project advisory services in the construction industry. She founded and managed TMA
Construction Consultants, an advisory firm that provided construction claims and project management services to Canadian and international clients for more than 25 years.
After TMA was acquired by Deloitte in 2013, Tardif served as a partner, providing advisory and independent expert services on large, complex and high-risk projects.
“The Canadian market is a key growth area for HKA,” said Frank Giunta, partner, Americas, in the statement. “Lorna brings vast experience in construction consulting and has an impressive track record of success in Canada.”
“I look forward to implementing our future growth plans to expand HKA’s service offerings across the public, private and infrastructure sectors throughout Canada,” said Tardif.
Tardif has given expert testimony in courts and arbitration panels across Canada and in the United States and has served as an arbitrator and mediator on the resolution of construction disputes.
She holds a bachelor of civil engineering degree from McGill University and an MBA from the University of Western Ontario. She is a Member of the Order of Engineers of Quebec, the Institute of Mediation and Arbitration, and the Institute of Corporate Directors.
