COBOURG, ONT. — FSD Pharma Inc. recently announced construction is underway on a heritage museum and flagship onsite cannabis dispensary at the Certo building located at the former Kraft plant in Cobourg, Ont.
The building was the first in the British Empire to make commercial grade pectin that was sold under the product name Certo and is estimated at over 100 years old, states a release. The property is listed on the municipal heritage register as a property of cultural heritage value. Last year, Cobourg City Council endorsed several recommendations, including the designation of the Certo building under the Ontario Heritage Act as a building of cultural heritage value, adds the release.
