Revera opens $50 million seniors residence in Ajax

AJAX, ONT. — Senior living developer Revera has announced the official opening of the Westney Gardens retirement residence in Ajax, Ont.

The grand opening of the $50-million, 132-suite residence was marked on Oct. 28. Amenities include a fitness centre, creative arts studio, theatre and golf simulator.

Many of the suites have full kitchens, in-suite laundry and private balconies, noted a release. Dining options for residents include a restaurant-style dining room, a pub, a bistro or in-suite dining.

Pet-friendly features include an off-leash dog run, dog-washing station and pet-care and dog-walking services.

Revera is targeting LEED Silver certification, with water-conservation and energy-efficiency measures incorporated into the build.

“We are very proud to officially introduce Westney Gardens to the Ajax community,” said Thomas Wellner, president and CEO of Revera, in the statement. “Westney Gardens is built on the core principles of choice, independence and innovation for seniors, and has already become a vibrant, exciting place to live. As our 76th retirement residence in Ontario, it also represents a significant milestone for Revera’s growth strategy.”
