Granby Industries’ Quebec plant expands

COWANSVILLE, QUE. — Granby Industries has announced the close of construction and consolidation of various services at its site in Cowansville, Que.

Granby is active in the design, manufacture and distribution of tanks for the storage and distribution of liquid fuels and heating equipment.

The $8.5-million plant expansion was completed in May and relocation of services and employees took place over July and August, a Sept. 13 release explained, with a manufacturing plant, distribution centre and administration now consolidated.

Features of the new facility include enhanced automation, better ventilation system and more natural light.

The administrative section has been redesigned with a reconfiguration of work stations and collaborative spaces.

“The $8.5-million investment in our new plant goes well beyond expansion and the addition of new equipment,” said Pierre Fournier, Granby president, in the statement.

This is a new mode of operation based on the complete integration of automation in each of the manufacturing stages. After 65 years of existence, we are proud to begin a smarter production era.”
