More RHI funding for Halifax
The federal government today announced $13 million in funding to help create an estimated 43 new affordable homes for individuals and families in Halifax through the Cities Stream under the expanded Rapid Housing Initiative (RHI). The housing is intended for people in precarious housing situations. The allocation is in addition to the government’s previous allocation of $8.7 million through the first phase of the RHI to support construction of 52 housing units in Halifax.
Elm Street announces two acquisitions
Elm Street Technology LLC yesterday announced the acquisitions of Morris Real Estate Marketing Group and IXACT Contact Solutions, specialists in marketing services and repeat and referral lead generation conversion technology across the Canadian real estate sector. Elm Street is a provider of residential real estate technology and marketing services.
Save Anmore opposes rezoning plan
A group of residents of Anmore, B.C. today announced the formation of the Save Anmore Coalition to fight a plan to spot-zone the southern half of the village to urban status from its current rural designation. The group said the rezoning is the “precursor to environmental degradation, clearcutting of trees, high-density development, overcapacity of our transportation routes and insurmountable pressures on regional parks and lakes.” Anmore is located northeast of Vancouver.
Trudeau schedules announcement at Gaspe wind plant
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will be in Gaspe, Que. today to make an announcement and tour the LM Wind Power Plant. Trudeau and other federal ministers will be joined by Quebec’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Jonatan Julien.
