Old health care facility in Timmins demolished to make way for new centre
CSC TIMMINS FACEBOOK—Demolition on the Centre de santé communautaire de Timmins’ (CSC Timmins) existing health care facility on Kent Street in Timmins, Ont. began in December.

TIMMINS, ONT. — A new health care facility for the Centre de santé communautaire de Timmins (CSC Timmins) is one step closer to reality with the demolition of the old structure located at 120 Kent Ave. in Timmins, Ont.

The demolition is being carried out by Priestly Demolition Inc.

In April 2022, the Ontario government announced an investment of over $10 million to build the new facility in order to bring services under one roof to better serve the Franco-Ontarian community in the area.

CSC Timmins currently provides programs and services such as primary health, mental health and addictions and chronic disease services in two temporary locations. The investment will enable the team to operate in a new, modern facility and expand services to include childhood education, physiotherapy and psychology services, indicates a release.

Once complete, the new facility will accommodate about 18,000 visits and 20,000 group attendances for health care services each year and provide medical students with hands-on practical training onsite.
