PHOTO: Portland Commons Progress

Work is moving up for the Portland Commons office building at the site of the heritage Copp Clark Publishing Co. building in Toronto.

The owner/developer is Carttera Private Equities. The project being built by EllisDon Corporation includes one 15-storey office with 13 private outdoor terraces, three levels of underground parking, a restaurant and retail space. The building is targeting LEED Platinum for its core and shell and is also going after a wire-score Platinum certification. The project was designed by Sweeny&Co Architects and the heritage architect is ERA Architects Inc. Consultants are: Read Jones Christoffersen (structural); MGM Consulting Inc. (civil); Mulvey & Banani International (electrical); The Mitchell Partnership (mechanical); NAK Design Strategies (landscape); and Soberman Engineering (vertical transportation).
