Fill the Truck food drive expands to three locations

BRANTFORD, ONT. — Jesse and Cortney Buchan, owner/dealer of J&K Home Building Centre, in Brantford, Ont., Warren’s Home Hardware in Burford and Waterford Home Building Centre, are expanding the Fill the Truck food drive, which will encompass all three locations this holiday season.

All three locations will be accepting non-perishable food donations until Dec. 18.

To maximize the impact for the food banks, the following items are suggested as the most needed: peanut butter; canned meat; canned beans; crackers; canned fruit; canned vegetables; canned soup and stew; pasta and sauce; cereal; infant formula; shampoo and conditioner; toothpaste, toothbrushes and deodorant; paper towels, trash bags and laundry detergent; toilet paper and menstrual care products; diapers and wipes; all varieties of cleaning products; and pet food, treats and litter.

The public can participate by contributing non-perishable food donations to whichever location is closest to them this holiday season.

“After the positive response to last year’s Fill the Truck Food Drive in Brantford, we are thrilled to extend the initiative to all three of our locations, partnering with our teams in Waterford and Burford. Together, we aim to make an even greater impact in addressing the needs of the local Food Banks at such a critical time of year for many,” said Jesse Buchan in a statement.
