Montreal’s Parc Olympique takes top spot at Innovation Spotlight Awards

TORONTO— Building Transformations has announced the winners for the ninth annual Innovation Spotlight Awards and top honours for Best in Innovation went to Parc Olympique for its Legacy to Leadership: Digital Transformation of Parc Olympique.

Almost 50 years since its construction, the Parc olympique de Montréal is undergoing a holistic organizational and digital transformation, states a release, adding to establish itself as a key player in the event industry, the parc is actively integrating BIM and other digital methodologies across its infrastructure lifecycle in all aspects of its operations.

The awards were presented Dec. 7 at George Brown College’s Waterfront Campus in Toronto.

This year’s winners are:

  • Professional Achievement Award Winner: Joe Geluch – President and CEO, Naikoon Contracting
  • Academic Award Winner: École de technologie supérieure (ETS) – Neural Search for Intuitive BIM Data Query
  • Research Award Winner – National Research Council of Canada – OpenBIM Web App for Decarbonizing Built Environment
  • Entrepreneurship and Start Up Award Winner: Intelligent City – Platforms for Life (P4L) – A Mass Timber Product Platform for Urban Housing
  • Digital Products Award Winner: GAMMA AR Technologies – GAMMA AR
  • Digital Supply Chain and Fabrication Award Winner: Modern Niagara – SIMPLER CAD-CAM
  • Digitalization Strategy Award Winner: Bird Construction – Effective Construction Dashboards
  • Project Delivery, Asset Management & Lifecycle Award: Parc olympique – From Legacy to Leadership: Montréal Parc olympique’s Digital Transformation
  • Design & Engineering Award: WSP – TimberX – Leveraging Digital Innovation to Expand Knowledge of Mass Timber
  • Construction Management Award Winner: Ellisdon – UofT Schwartz Reisman Innovation Centre – Full Circle Tech Deployment
