EllisDon has announced that its project team has hoisted the last steel beam into place at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital (WLMH) in Grimsby, Ont., marking the structural completion of the fourth and final storey of the new 120,000-square-foot building.
EllisDon Infrastructure Healthcare is working on the redevelopment project after being awarded a design, build and finance contract from Infrastructure Ontario and Hamilton Health Sciences. The job includes the construction of a new, larger hospital on the property behind the existing facility. The new structure will expand the capacity of the community hospital that has served West Niagara residents for over 70 years. WLMH provides both inpatient services and outpatient services, including emergency services, complex and palliative care, surgery and a maternal and newborn program. As a site of Hamilton Health Sciences, WLMH also serves as a point of access for patients requiring more specialized care.
