Emerging Water Technology Symposium to run as virtual event

ONTARIO, CALIF. — The conveners of the 2021 Emerging Water Technology Symposium (EWTS) set for San Antonio, Texas have announced that due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic the event will go forward as a two-day virtual symposium, scheduled for May 11 to 12.

The EWTS was previously scheduled to be convened as a live event on those same dates.

“It’s disappointing that a year after postponing the 2020 EWTS the horrible COVID-19 pandemic prevents us yet again from safely convening the symposium as an in-person event,” said International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) SVP Tony Marcello, the event’s lead organizer, in a statement.

Program and registration details will be available on the EWTS website after March 11.

“While it will be difficult to match the excitement of an in-person EWTS, we can promise the virtual symposium will deliver an engaging and timely, although abbreviated, program for attendees,” Marcello said.

The symposium is convened biennially by the American Society of Plumbing Engineers, the Alliance for Water Efficiency, the IAPMO and Plumbing Manufacturers International in cooperation with the World Plumbing Council.
