NORTH OGDEN, UTAH — Big-D Construction, the City of North Ogden and partners recently broke ground on a public safety building that will house 30 city employees including 22 police officers and eight civilian employees.

Awarded to Big-D Construction and JRCA Architects in 2021, the 25,000-square-foot, $12.4-million design-build project is a single-storey facility located at 515 East 2600 North in North Ogden. According to city officials, it will be home to the North Ogden Justice Court, police department, code enforcement and animal control.

The current public safety building, built in 1962, has undergone multiple additions over its 60-year life span and the new facility will include a holding facility for those accused of an offense. Completion on the new building is slated for August 2023.

“It’s an honor to be a part of a project so significant to the people who selflessly serve our community,” said Mark Glauser, Big-D Construction vice president, in a statement. “We look forward to handing over a new Public Safety Building in 2023 that will better serve not only those who work in the building but visitors as well.”
