CONEXPO-CON/AGG makes CIASP donation for Mental Health Awareness Month

CONEXPO-CON/AGG makes CIASP donation for Mental Health Awareness Month

WASHINGTON — CONEXPO-CON/AGG, the largest construction trade show and conference in North America, is donating $5,000 to the Construction Industry Alliance for Suicide Prevention (CIASP).

Founded by the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) in 2016, the CIASP’s mission is to dismantle the stigma attached to mental health within the industry, a release said, and by 2018 it became an independent 501(c)(3) entity with a focus on suicide prevention awareness and providing essential resources.

“CIASP estimates 10 to 12 construction workers die by suicide every day. From the educational content at our events, to informative articles on our website, and now this contribution, CONEXPO-CON/AGG is committed to tackling this statistic and supporting our industry,” CONEXPO-CON/AGG show director Dana Wuesthoff said in the release.

CONEXPO-CON/AGG also created a resource hub where employers and employees can access resources.

The organization will also focus on mental health content over the next few months via its CONEXPO-CON/AGG 365 newsletter, which will examine topics related to suicide, PTSD and other mental health conditions prevalent in the construction industry.

Donations to CIASP can be made here.
