TEMPE, ARIZ. — Utah-based Big-D Construction has announced Carl McFarland has been promoted to president of the construction company’s Southwest U.S. office.
During his career McFarland has worked with major general contractors with a focus on geographic and market expansion. This month Big-D Southwest opened neighboring office suites in Tempe, Ariz. with Big-D Heavy Industrial.
McFarland stated in a release the industry is experiencing a generational and technological transformation, and the ability to adapt to support the next generation of the workforce and understand new technology is crucial.
“Legacies will be defined by this moment. This is the biggest shift in modern construction history,” he said.

Big-D Companies is one of the largest groups of contractors in the United States with $2.6 billion of annual revenue.
