The projects are set aside for small businesses to help promote and support construction companies in the federal contracting process. NASA’s announcement classifies these as NAICS category 236220, Commercial and Institutional Building Construction, with revenue up to $36.5 million.
The RFP falls under the Western Regional Multiple Award Construction Contracts (WRMACC) for Northern and Southern California. NASA said the forthcoming RFP also calls for an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contract, or IDIQ.
Additional California locations expected in the RFP include Goldstone Deep Space Communications Complex (GDSCC) in Fort Irwin and Santa Susana Field Laboratory (SSFL) in Simi Valley, NASA stated.
The RFP is expected to be released around November 1, 2024, and proposals are anticipated due by December 13, 2024. NASA said the RFP will provide firm dates for receipt of bids.
