On this week’s Construction Record podcast, Daily Commercial News managing editor Vince Versace and daily editor Lindsey Cole dive right into issues affecting the industry like marijuana legalization, now just mere days away, and the safety aspects affecting the industry, highlighted in a recent article by Daily Commercial News staff writer Angela Gismondi, who recently attended the Fitness for Duty summit put on by DriverCheck Inc.

Daily Commercial News staff writer Don Wall has an interview with Vale project director Joao Zanon about the $1.7 billion Voisey’s Bay mine expansion in Labrador, which will extend the life of the mine to 2034 and will employ 1,400 construction workers. Journal of Commerce digital media editor Warren Frey interviewed Integral Group head of research and planning Lisa Westerhoff, who is spearheading the Better Buildings BC incentive program to encourage construction of net-zero energy use multi-use residential, commercial and institutional buildings.
