On this episode of the Construction Record Podcast, digital media editor Warren Frey speaks Altus Group senior director of research, valuation and advisory, economic consulting Daryl Keleher about the 2022 Canadian Home Builders’ Association (CHBA) Municipal Benchmarking Report.
Keleher was the lead researcher for the report which looked at the municipal planning approval processes, municipal charges imposed on new development and municipal approval timelines that effect the development and construction industries across Canada.
The report found Edmonton, Charlottetown, Calgary and London ranked highest on the list with streamlined processes while Metro Vancouver and Greater Toronto Area municipalities were near the bottom.
