Saskatchewan company fined for not reporting accident that injured worker

REGINA — A Saskatchewan company has been fined for failing to report an incident that resulted in an injured worker needing treatment in hospital.

The government says Hebert Metal Roofing and Exteriors of Moosomin pleaded guilty in a Regina court to violating occupational health and safety regulations.

The company was fined $2,100.

Court heard a worker was hurt at a site near Regina in November 2015, but the accident wasn’t reported to Occupational Health and Safety.

Rules require employers and contractors to provide a detailed report if a worker suffers an injury requiring a hospital stay of three days or longer.
