Tla’amin Nation to build new composting facility

A new $1.15 million organics processing facility to produce Class A compost is planned for the Tla’amin Nation and the qathet Regional District and Powell River, B.C. The plant will be built on land adjacent to the former Catalyst paper mill in Powell River. Two-thirds of the funding will come from the joint federal and provincial Organics Infrastructure Program and one-third of the funding will be from the Tla’amin Nation. Completion is expected by March 31, 2022.

CSC Edmonton holding area separation firewall webinar

The Edmonton chapter of Construction Specifications Canada is holding an Introduction to Area Separation Firewalls webinar on Feb. 10. The webinar will cover the primary functions of firewalls, different options to achieve National Building Code requirements and how firewall systems can meet project and design needs. GCT Deltaport expansion project opens up participant funding

Funding from the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada is now available for the public and Indigenous groups to participate in the impact assessment process for the proposed GCT Deltaport Extension – Berth Four project. The container storage and handling facility would be located in Delta, B.C. The funding application is available at the Impact Assessment Agency’s site under the Funding Programs section.
