VRCA announces chair fo board of directors
The Vancouver Regional Construction Association has announced Syncra project director Richard Shipway has been appointed chair of the association’s board of directors. Previously, Shipway has been on the board of directors as executive/vice-chair, chair of the general contractors division and a member of the education committee as well as serving on the board of directors of the British Columbia Construction Association.
StatsCan releases architectural, engineering price index
Statistics Canada today released its Architectural, Engineering and Related Services Price Index report for the fourth quarter of 2020. The index indicates that prices rose 0.6 per cent in Q4 compared to Q3 and 2.1 per cent over the fourth quarter of 2019.
ICC releases energy efficiency framework
The International Code Council has released a new framework to address energy efficiency needs across the U.S. building industry. The framework, titled Leading the Way to Energy Efficiency: A Path Forward on Energy and Sustainability to Confront a Changing Climate includes using the code council’s American National Standards Institute approved standards process to update the International Energy Conservation Code.
