VICTORIA – The Vancouver Island Construction Association’s (VICA) Young Builders Network (YBN) is hosting its annual music event on Sept. 24 to raise funds for the Help Fill A Dream Foundation.
The event is in its fourth year and raised $15,000 during their virtual event in 2021. This will be the first in-person event since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
“Given the last few years the YBN has not been able to host in-person events, there has been a lot of excitement to ensure that this is going to be a night to remember. The construction industry has had a bit of a rocky last couple of years, but I feel we are overall privileged especially compared to organizations like Help Fill a Dream. We very much look forward to a fun and intimate evening in which we can give back to local families who are in need of their communities help,” YBN chair AJ Winters said in a press release.
“We’re proud of our networks for taking on initiatives to support local families through community partners like Help Fill A Dream. The construction industry has been running at full tilt, and we look forward to enjoying a night of good music and good times with our colleagues,” added VICA CEO Rory Kulmala.
This year’s event will be held at Swan’s Pub in downtown Victoria and is titled “Builders in the Basement” with a 1990s theme. The headliner for the event is Tal Bachman with a special guest appearance from Randy Bachman. The entire lineup of the show is:
- Tal Bachman
- Randy Bachman
- Paulo Michaels
- Morien Jones
- Paul Black Trio
- Trophy Dad
- DJ Steel Toes
- Rotten Little Kings
Tickets are available for purchase, with proceeds benefiting the Help Fill A Dream Foundation at the VICA events page.
