CALGARY, ALTA. — The Calgary Construction Association (CCA) recently announced the launch of Adopt a Shop, a pilot program delivered in collaboration with the Calgary Board of Education.
This initiative is designed to strengthen connections between Calgary’s construction industry and the next generation of skilled trades professionals, states a release, by supporting educators and providing high school students with practical, hands-on learning.
Participating industry partners support local schools by contributing materials, tools and equipment, providing financial assistance, and offering mentorship to students by sharing their industry expertise.
The program complements the launch of the Honour The Work program, which last year reached more than 850 Kindergarten to Grade 6 classrooms across more than 100 Calgary schools, the CCA reports.
Organizations interested in learning more about this program or seeking to participate can contact the CCA or get more information here.
