Nexii facility planned for Vancouver Island

Nexii facility planned for Vancouver Island

VICTORIA — Vancouver Island will soon have better access to Nexii green building products.

The company recently announced a manufacturing facility is in the works for the island through its certified manufacturing program.

The green construction technology company announced the $50 million plant will help it rapidly scale the deployment of its green building products. Company officials said this is in response to escalating customer demand.

Nexii noted its Nexii Certified Manufacturing provides independent local manufacturing businesses with access to its operating systems and protocols to produce Nexii building products in their regions. The new Vancouver Island facility, known as Alexzi Building Solutions Inc., will be developed under the program.

“Vancouver Island is home to some of the fastest-growing cities in the province, and it’s essential to ensure that all new construction on the Island is also green construction,” Stephen Sidwell, CEO of Nexii Building Solutions, commented.

Alexzi Building Solutions Inc. will be led by local businesswomen Amber Simpson and Elizabeth Liu, QC. Alexzi. They are currently searching for potential sites to build the 150,000 square foot facility. Nexii anticipates the plant will be open in late 2021 or early 2022.

Nexii’s model uses proprietary green materials and precision manufacturing technology to rapidly assemble buildings.

So far, the company has announced six production facilities across North America, five in Canada and one in the U.S.
