Bhatti named new Green Line LRT CEO

Darshpreet Bhatti has been appointed CEO of the Green Line LRT project effective Aug. 16. Bhatti was previously Metrolinx’s vice-president of the Hurontario Light Rail Transit Project since 2017 in Ontario. He has also been involved with the Toronto Waterfront Revitalization project, the City of Brampton AcceleRide project and the City of Windsor Detroit River Tunnel project. 

Honeywell forms alliance with Nexii

U.S.-based Honeywell and Nexii Building Solutions of Vancouver today announced the creation of a strategic alliance to further the development of buildings with a reduced environmental impact. Honeywell becomes the exclusive building technologies supplier for new buildings constructed by Nexii, which is a green construction technology company.

Progressive Planet to team with ZS2

Progressive Planet Solutions Inc. of Vancouver and ZS2 Technologies Ltd. today announced a letter of intent between the firms to collaborate on the accelerated development of sustainable products for the cement, concrete and building products industries. ZS2 is a Calgary-based developer of sustainable building technologies. Progressive Planet operates its flagship Z1 Natural Pozzolan Quarry in Cache Creek, B.C.

National home sales declined in June

Statistics released today by the Canadian Real Estate Association show national home sales declined by 8.4 per cent on a month-over-month basis between May and June 2021. Actual (not seasonally adjusted) activity was up 13.6 per cent year-over-year. The MLS Home Price index rose 0.9 per cent month-over-month and was up 24.4 per cent year-over-year.
