Calgary based Pure Technologies extends Philipine water services contract

Journal Of Commerce

Maynilad Water Services of the Philippines has extended a contract with the Pressure Pipe Inspection Company, a subsidiary of Calgary-based Pure Technologies, for use of their Sahara leak detection services.

Maynilad provides water and wastewater services for 17 cities and municipalities that make up the West Zone of the greater Metro Manila area, and operates a pipeline network that runs more than 6,000 kilometers. The initial contract between Maynilad and Pressure Pipe Inspection Company was signed in 2009 and since then the company has detected over 160 leak locations, as well as unknown and illegal connections.

Saraha is also capable of inspecting long distances of water mains while they are in service, meaning service is not disrupted during inspections. Under the original contract Maynilad engineers were trained on Sahara technology so they could operate the equipment implemented in the West Zone.
