Seymour River suspension bridge opens

Seymour River suspension bridge opens

VANCOUVER — A new pedestrian suspension bridge across the Seymour River in the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve in North Vancouver has been completed.

The Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve is located downstream of the Seymour Watershed and is managed by Metro Vancouver as a water reserve. It is also used for recreational, educational and ecological uses.

The new bridge replaces the Twin Bridge which was removed following a major rock slide in 2014 that partially blocked the Seymour River and flooded area trails.

A new staircase on the Baden Powell trail is now open, as is the Canyon Creek Bridge at the north end of Riverside Drive for utility maintenance, emergency responders and trail users.
