PRINCE ALBERT, SASK. — Graham has been chosen to build the City of Prince Albert’s new Aquatic and Arenas Recreation Centre.

For the project Graham is partnering with AECOM and architects Group2 and MJMA.

The $105 million project includes the construction of a 150,000 square foot facility that will house two NHL sized rinks, seating for 366 in one rink and 608 in the other rink, player dressing rooms totalling 6,720 square feet and referee dressing rooms totaling 800 square feet on the arena side.

The aquatics side will include an eight-lane 25-metre competitive pool, 200 spectator seats, combined leisure and wave pool, lazy river, two water slides and a whirlpool.

Construction is slated to begin this summer and completion has been scheduled for 2024.

“This is an exciting project for our community. We are already seeing that this will not only be a hub for recreation in Prince Albert, but also a new entertainment district that will include hotels, restaurants and retail stores,” said Mayor Greg Dionne in a press release. “It will be an attractive amenity for not only our families that live here, but those that are considering Prince Albert as a place to live.”
