MAPLETON, ONT. — The Township of Mapleton and Graham recently announced they have reached financial close on a $41 million series of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
This marks the transition from development to construction, with Graham’s construction team, who have been engaged since the project’s inception, now set to begin delivering the upgrades, states a release.
The projects are being delivered through Graham’s Municipal Asset PartnershipTM (MAPTM) framework and the work includes upgrades to the Moorfield water system renewal, Moorfield sewage pumping station, Drayton sewage pumping station, Mapleton Wastewater Treatment Plant and other water and wastewater systems in the area.
“As part of the MAP framework, Graham supported the township in establishing a Municipal Services Corporation (MSC), enabling an off-balance sheet financing structure that preserves municipal borrowing capacity while advancing essential infrastructure projects,” the release explains. “Northern Maple Utilities Inc. was officially established as an MSC in the spring of 2025 and will be responsible for the ongoing operations, maintenance, asset renewal, and delivery of water and wastewater services to the Township of Mapleton.”
Construction will begin in June 2025.
