Urgent and primary care centre in Kelowna set to open this fall

KELOWNA, B.C. — A new urgent and primary care centre (UPCC) in Kelowna is will open its doors this coming fall.

The centre will be the 32nd UPCC in British Columbia, according to a news release.

It will employ family doctors, nurses, nurse practitioners, social workers, physiotherapists and life-skills workers, according to a news release.

Interior Health will operate the centre and collaborate with the Central Okanagan Division of Family Practice for integration into the community.

The centre will be located at 110 Hwy. 33 west in Kelowna. It is a 7,200 square foot facility with a reception, waiting area and exam rooms and received $4.2 million in capital support from the Ministry of Health in January.
