Graham Construction wins contract for key Green Line tunnel project
CITY OF CALGARY — An artist’s drawing shows what one of Calgary’s Green Line stations could look like.

CALGARY — The Green Line Board has selected Graham Infrastructure LP to construct a key pedestrian and vehicle tunnel along the future LRT track.

Graham will be delivering the 78th Avenue Project which will see the construction of vehicle and pedestrian tunnels under the Canadian Pacific Kansas City Railway corridor near the future Green Line LRT Ogden Station.

Construction is expected to begin soon and extend into summer 2025. Public information sessions will begin on June 13, according to a news release.

“With approximately 26 trains per day operating on CPKC’s main line, this complex enabling works project will reduce project and schedule risks as Green Line prepares for main LRT construction,” reads the release.

Once the tunnel is completed, the vehicle crossing at 69 Avenue S.E will be permanently closed.

Main construction remains on track to start in 2024, reads the release.
