Vancouver planning for Portside Greenway upgrades

Vancouver planning for Portside Greenway upgrades

VANCOUVER — The Portside Greenway has been targeted by the City of Vancouver for some extensive upgrades.

According to a project page, the city is looking to expand Portside Greenway so a continuous route from Alexander Street to Boundary Road exists. The project will prioritize “safe, comfortable walking, biking and rolling, with great public spaces along the way.”

The Portside Greenway currently runs along the waterfront of Burrard Inlet from Alexander Street, past the Powell Street overpass and terminates at the Trans Canada Trail and Boundary Road.

Phase one for public engagement has closed with phase two set to begin in this fall where concepts will be reviewed.

Construction is estimated to begin in 2025.
