FILLMORE, SASK. — A 38-kilometre stretch of Highway 33 in Saskatchewan is in the process of receiving a $26 million face-lift.
Construction began several weeks ago to repave the stretch of highway between Fillmore and Stoughton. As part of the project, four intersection improvements will take place along Highway 33, reads a news release.
The general contractor for the project is Langenburg Redi-Mix, a Regina-based company.
“The upgrades to Highway 33 will positively contribute to the safe and reliable movement of agricultural commodities to markets domestically and globally,” said Fillmore Reeve Russell Leguee in the release.
The work is part of a plan to improve 1,000 kilometres of highway in the province this season, states the release.
