Calgary Ring Road complete by 2024 says Province of Alberta

CALGARY, ALTA. — The Alberta government is estimating the Calgary Ring Road project is on track for completion in 2024.

Construction of the new West Bow River bridge and new interchanges at Old Banff Coach Road and Bow Trail opened for traffic and city and provincial leaders were on hand Oct. 19 to officially open the West Bow Ring Road.

Construction of the West Calgary Ring Road is the final piece of the entire ring project, and the focus is now shifting to the final phase between Bow Trail and Highway 8, which is on track to be complete in 2024, a release said.

Work continues on the interchange at the Trans-Canada Highway and Stoney Trail along with the connection to Bow Trail SW, which is scheduled for completion this fall.

Additional work to complete on the roadway and interchanges at 17 Avenue and Highway 8 is expected to be completed by 2024, the release added.
